Rebuilding Begins

New manager Steve Waywell's squad rebuilding program is well under way with ten of last seasons squad so far sommitting to staying at Victory Park.

Defenders James Mulliuex, Martin Clarke, Danny Finch & Chris Smalley; midfielders Chris Brooks, Michael West & Lee Shillito and forwards Danny Nolan, Adam Crossley & Steve Burke have all agreed to stay with the Magpies despite many having received offers from other clubs to move on.

Of the incoming players, Andy Heald has signed again for the club, having previously put pen to paper during Gerry Luczka's reign but never actually playing, while Karl Brown and Wayne Maden sign for the club for the first time.

Heald has a wealth of experience having played for his home toen club Leigh RMI/Genesis during three separate spells.  he can pay in midfield or on the wing and has also played for Morecambe, Staylybridge Celtic, Leigh Athletic and Radcliffe Borough.

Brown is another mifielder who joined Leigh Genesis in January this year from Warrington Town and has also played fort Ashton United and AFC Telford United.

Maden is a former Blackpool trainee who playes in defence and has also appeared for Squires Gate, Leigh and Hyde United.
